Driving directions:

From Reading:

Take Route 222 South towards Lancaster.

Turn RIGHT onto Route 272 and continue on 272 to Willow St.

Turn right on Willow St., then left on Main St. (Adamstown)

Follow Main St. to the end of town. There will be people there to direct you to park.

Alleghenyville UCC

Alleghenyville, PA

 

Driving directions:

This annual Ringgold Band event features a variety of tasty foods and, of course, strawberries and ice cream, prepared by church members. It’s definitely worth the trip to this pretty rural setting.

Alleghenyville is one mile east of Knauers (at Route 625), on Route 568. Griffith & Bixler furniture is at the intersection of Routes 625 and 568.

The church will be on the right. There is ample parking.

Brickerville, PA

Driving directions:From Reading:

Take Route 222 South to Adamstown.

Turn RIGHT onto Route 272 and continue on 272 into Ephrata.

In Ephrata, turn RIGHT onto Rt. 322 North and drive less than 10 miles into Brickerville.

In Brickerville, you’ll see traffic control people. Park where instructed (probably on the church parking lot). The picnic grove is directly across the street from the church.

Alternate route:

Brickerville is just south of Interstate 76, on Route 322.

This concert features a spacious, shaded area for seating and lots of delicious homemade foods.

Coleman Park

Lebanon, PA

 

Driving directions:From Reading:

Take Rt. 422 West into center city Lebanon.

Turn RIGHT onto Route 72 North.

At Maple Street, watch for the park entrance on the left.

Bring your own seating, just in case.

Confluence Point Park

Reading, PA

Driving directions:From Center City Reading:

Go north on 3rd St. Look for signs to Rt. 183. Take Rt. 183 (Schuylkill Ave.)

Immediately after crossing the Schuylkill Ave. Bridge, turn LEFT onto Blair Ave.

Follow Blair Ave. until it ends. Park there and walk into the woods to your left. The band will be about 100 feet on your left as you walk into the woods.

 

Conrad Weiser Homestead

Womelsdorf, PA

Driving directions:Located midway between Reading and Lebanon along the south side of Route 422 in Western Berks County, just east of Womelsdorf. Follow the signs to this beautiful 26-acre park loaded with history.

Denver Memorial Park

Denver, PA

Driving directions:From Reading:

Take Route 222 South to Route 272 South

Follow Route 272 South W. Church St.

Turn RIGHT onto W. Church St. This turns into Main St. in Denver.

Follow Main St. to the end of town. Memorial Park is on your right. Park wherever you can.

Gring’s Mill Park

Wyomissing, PA

Driving directions: From Rt. 222 bypass, take Broadcasting Road exit.

At end of exit ramp, follow sign toward Penn State Berks-Lehigh on Broadcasting Road (go north).

Pass Penn State entrance/parking on the right, staying on Broadcasting Road until you reach a T intersection.

Turn RIGHT at the T.

In less than a mile, Gring’s Mill entrance will be on your LEFT, across from Penn State Berks-Lehigh campus.

Alternate route from Berkshire Mall area (south of Gring’s Mill):

From Woodland Road heading north, turn LEFT onto Paper Mill Road (at Denny’s Restaurant).

Pass Sheraton Reading on your right.

At next traffic light, turn RIGHT onto Berkshire Boulevard.

Stay on Berkshire about 1.5 miles, passing large movie theater complex on right.

At T intersection, turn LEFT and go about a mile to Gring’s Mill Park.

Entrance will be on your RIGHT, across from Penn State Berks-Lehigh campus.

There is ample parking at the park and at Penn State across the street. Set up your chairs or blanket on the grassy slope near the park entrance. The band, as always, will be amplified.

Hamburg Community Park

Driving directions:From Reading (south of Hamburg):

Take Route 61 North into Hamburg (take Hamburg exit onto Fourth Street).

Turn left onto Franklin Street, which leads to the park.

St. John’s Hill Church

Driving directions:From Reading:

Take Route 12 East to Rt. 73 (at Tailgaters Restaurant).

Turn RIGHT onto Route 73 East and continue through Oley.

About 2 miles past Oley (in Pleasantville), turn LEFT onto Oysterdale Road at the traffic light.

Go about a mile and turn RIGHT onto Hill Church Road. You might see a sign for St. Joseph’s Day Care, which is near the church.

Continue to the stop sign. Hill Church will be right in front of you. Park on the church lot and walk downhill to the grove.

From north of Oley:

From Pricetown Road In New Jerusalem, go east on Lobachsville Road (at Alexander’s sandwich shop). Follow that road until it ends at a T intersection.

Turn LEFT onto Oysterdale Road.

Turn LEFT onto Hill Church Road. You may see a sign for St. Joseph’s Day Care, which is near the church.

Continue to the stop sign. Hill Church will be right in front of you. Park on the church lot and walk downhill to the grove.

Fast Fact: Hill Church was constructed in 1852, the same year that Ringgold Band was founded. What a coincidence!

Kutztown Park

Kutztown, PA

Concert in the park – seating available.Driving directions:

From north of Kutztown:

Take Rt. 222 South to Kutztown exit.

After exiting, you’ll pass Weis shopping center on left – this road becomes Main Street.

Continue another 2/10 mile – Kutztown Park will be on your left.

The stage is in the large building near the street. Seating is provided, but you may bring your own if you prefer.

From south of Kutztown:

Take Rt. 222 North past Moselem Springs Inn.

Continue about a mile and take Kutztown exit.

Drive about 2 miles into Kutztown, passing Mente auto dealership and Kutztown Airport – this road becomes Main Street.

Continue down Main Street for several traffic lights (about 8 blocks). You’ll pass Kutztown University, business district and then homes.

Watch for Kutztown Park on the right (grassy hill).

The stage is in the large building near the street. Seating is provided, but you may bring your own.

Lutheran Home at Topton

Topton, PA

Driving directions:From Reading:

Take Rt. 222 North past Kutztown.

Turn RIGHT at the traffic light at Sittler’s Golf. Continue on that road into Topton.

Turn RIGHT onto Main Street.

Turn LEFT at Herman’s Drive In (ice cream parlor) and follow that street up the hill to the Lutheran Home. People will direct you to parking.

From Oley:

Take Rt. 662 North into Fleetwood.

At the traffic light in town, turn RIGHT onto Main Street.

Continue on Main Street through Fleetwood, following the road past Lyons into Topton (approximately 6 miles north of Fleetwood).

After passing Brandywine schools, turn RIGHT at Herman’s Drive In (ice cream parlor). Follow the road up the hill to the Lutheran Home.

Oley Valley Community Fair

Some seating available – Parking freeThis popular end-of-season agricultural fair features amusement rides, pie eating contests, loads of crafts, good food (like soup, funnel cake and ice cream). And don’t forget about the good music, too! It’s a pleasant way to say goodbye to summer.

Driving directions:

Take Rt. 73 to the traffic light in Oley (gas station on corner).

Turn NORTH onto Friedensburg Road (left turn if coming from Blandon) and proceed to stop sign.

At stop sign (T intersection), turn RIGHT onto Main Street and go about three blocks. You’ll pass the fire company on the left.

Turn LEFT onto Jefferson. Fire department staff will direct you where to park and collect a nominal parking fee.

The band performs under the bandshell, centrally located at the fair.

Phoebe-Berks Village

Wernersville, PA

Driving directions:From East of Wernersville (Reading):

Take Route 422 West.

Phoebe-Berks is on the right, exactly one mile past Sinking Spring Marketplace.

At Phoebe, follow signs for event parking. The band will be playing outdoors in the spacious courtyard.

If you’re approaching from 422 East, drive through most of Wernersville and watch for Church Road at last traffic light. Turn left and follow numbers 2 and 3 above.

Bring your own seating.

Quakertown Memorial Park

Quakertown, PA

Driving directions:From Reading area (allow 45 minutes from Oley):

Take Route 12 East to Route 73 East past Oley and past Gilbertsville.

Turn LEFT onto Route 663 North toward Quakertown. Quakertown is approximately 9 miles north of Pennsburg. Route 663 becomes West Broad Street.

In Quakertown, follow signs for Rt. 313 East (staying straight on Broad Street) and continue about a half mile.

Turn LEFT onto North 9th Street and go about two blocks, passing tennis courts.

Turn RIGHT onto West Mill Street and you’ll see the large park on the right. A parking lot is to the left.

Bring your own seating.

Reeve’s Park

Phoenixville, PA

This pretty park boasts a very nice bandshell, mature trees and two gazebos for lounging in comfort. Bring the kids to play on the playground equipment nearby. Driving directions:Driving Directions:

From Reading:

Take Route 422 East to Route 724 East.

Take Route 23 East into Phoenixville.

Continue past the Phoenixville Hospital. The next intersection will be Main Street.

Turn LEFT onto Main Street and go 3 to 4 blocks. The bandshell will be on your right. If you arrive from another direction, the park is also bordered by Third Avenue and Starr Street.

Schwarzwald Lutheran Church

Jacksonwald, PA

Driving directions:From Oley (north of church):

Take Route 73 to Route 662 South and go about two miles

Turn RIGHT onto Oley Turnpike Road and continue several miles to Jacksonwald

The church is at the corner of Oley Turnpike Road and Church Lane Road

From Route 562 (south of church):

From Route 562 just east of St. Lawrence (at a traffic light), go north onto Oley Turnpike Road

Go about 2 blocks and the church will be on your right

Scottish Rite Cathedral

West Reading, PA

Driving directions:From Rt. 422 (west or east):

Take the Penn Avenue exit into West Reading. (Don’t take N. Wyomissing Blvd. as the bridge is out on Park Road near Vanity Fair Outlets.)

Continue straight about 5 blocks and turn LEFT onto Seventh Avenue.

Proceed about 4 blocks. After passing the Reading Hospital parking garage, you’ll see the large parking lot at right. The Scottish Rite Cathedral is on the far side of the lot.

Park, enter at the glass doors and proceed upstairs to the theater. Parking is free.

From south of Reading:

Take Rt. 222 North toward Reading.

Watch for Days Inn and Tom Sturgis Pretzels on right. Continue straight at traffic light past signs for Route 724.

Go one block to next trafflic light, and turn LEFT onto Museum Road.

Proceed about 1.5 miles on Museum Road. After you pass the Reading Public Museum and cross a small bridge, turn LEFT onto Parkside Drive North.

Pass Reading Hospital buildings for about one block and turn RIGHT onto Seventh Avenue. Take the first driveway at left to the Scottish Rite Cathedral parking lot.

Enter at the glass doors and proceed upstairs to the theater. Parking is free.

Sovereign Performing Arts Center

Reading, PA

Driving directions:The Sovereign Performing Arts Center is in center city Reading on Sixth Street, between Washington and Walnut Streets (close to Walnut).

From south, east or west of Reading:

From Route 422, take the Penn Street exit into Reading.

Turn left onto Sixth (one way street) and continue about three blocks, past Cherry and Washington Streets.

Just past the theater (on your left), turn right onto Walnut (one way street).

Go one block to access the parking garage. Limited street parking is also available.

From north of Reading:

Take Route 222 South into center city Reading. The street becomes Fifth Street. After you cross over a bridge, watch the street signs.

One block after Elm Street, go left onto Walnut (one way street).

To access the parking garage, go one block past Sixth Street – you’ll see the garage on your right.

St. John’s “Hains” UCC

Wernersville, PA

Driving directions:From East of Wernersville (Reading):

Take Route 422 West. Wernersville is about 8 miles from Wyomissing.

In Wernersville, turn RIGHT at first traffic light onto Church Road. There’s an antique store on the corner called Ollie’s.

Proceed up the hill for approximately 1 mile.

Pass the church on the right at the top of the hill.

Continue around the sharp left turn and turn RIGHT into the picnic grove.

If you’re approaching from 422 East, drive through most of Wernersville and watch for Church Road at last traffic light. Turn left and follow numbers 3, 4 and 5 above.

St. Michael’s Church

Hamburg, PA

Driving directions:From Reading (south of Hamburg):

Take Route 61 North into Hamburg (take Hamburg exit onto Fourth Street).

At traffic light near center of town, turn LEFT onto State Street.

Follow State Street out of Hamburg into village of Jalapa.

Turn LEFT onto St. Michael’s Road.

Follow St. Michael’s Road until you see the church on your left. There’s plenty of parking.

Alternate from Reading (the “back way”):

Take Rt. 61 North through Leesport.

At second traffic light after Leesport, turn LEFT onto Mohrsville Road.

Continue to bridge over Schuylkill River.

Turn LEFT onto Centerport-Shartlesville Road.

At T intersection, turn RIGHT onto St. Michael’s Road.

The church is just a short piece down the road on your right.

Stokesay Castle

Reading, PA

Driving directions:From Reading (13th Street near City Park):

Take 13th Street to Clymer Street near City Park.

Turn onto Hill Road – you can only turn one direction. Be careful not to follow road signs for the Pagoda.

Follow Hill Road uphill approx. 1 mile. Stay on Hill Road at fork.

Turn RIGHT onto Spook Lane and go very short distance.

Turn RIGHT onto driveway at sign for Stokesay Castle (just left of Reading Leiderkranz).

Follow tree-lined driveway on left about a half mile to the restaurant. Additional parking is at left end of building – follow driveway across front of building down the hill.

Use the banquet entrance out front; the band performs in the large ballroom on the main level. Find your assigned, numbered table, and you’re all set for an evening of fun!

From north of Reading (Rt. 73):

From Rt. 73 at Oley, take Friedensburg Road toward Reading.

At village of Stony Creek Mills, stay on Friedensburg Rd. past Minuteman Printing and Bixler’s Lodge.

Go about 3/4 mile, watching for narrow road called Spook Lane (steep road to right).

Turn RIGHT onto Spook Lane and go about a mile. You’ll see the Stokesay Castle entrance on your left.

Follow tree-lined driveway about a half mile to the restaurant. Additional parking is available at left end of building – follow driveway across front of building down the hill.

Use the banquet entrance; the band performs in the large ballroom on the main level. Find your assigned, numbered table, and you’re all set for an evening of fun

Stone House

Wyomissing, PA

Driving directions:From north of Reading:

Take Rt. 222 South (not Business 222) to bypass Reading.

Take Penn Avenue exit into West Reading.

Proceed about seven blocks, then turn LEFT onto Park Road.

Follow Park Road about a mile to end, then turn RIGHT onto Parkside Drive North (at Scottish Rite Cathedral).

Go 0.4 mile to stop sign at Wyomissing Boulevard. The stone house is straight ahead across the street.

Locate a parking spot on the street and follow the crowd.

From south of Reading:

Take Rt. 222 North toward Shillington.

Watch for Days Inn and Tom Sturgis Pretzels on right. At traffic light after Route 724 junction, turn LEFT onto Museum Road.

Proceed about one mile on Museum Road, then turn LEFT onto Wyomissing Boulevard. If you reach the traffic light near the Reading Public Museum, you went too far.

Proceed less than one mile on Wyomissing Blvd.; the stone house will be on your left.

Locate a parking spot on the street and follow the crowd to the stone house.

From west of Reading:

Take Rt. 422 East toward Reading.

Near the Berkshire Mall, take the State Hill Road exit.

Turn RIGHT at the traffic light, heading toward West Reading on State Hill Road.

Go about a half mile, then continue straight at the traffic light, crossing over Penn Avenue. This street will become Wyomissing Boulevard.

Continue another 0.8 mile to Parkside Drive North. The stone house and park is at this intersection, on the right.

Locate a parking spot on the street and follow the crowd to the stone house.

You’ll enjoy watching kids from the community parade their homemade lanterns around the pond to the music of the Ringgold Band. Concessions include hot food and cold treats, and fun activities for kids.

Zion Blue Mountain UCC

Strausstown, PA

Driving directions:From Reading:

Take Route 183 North to Strausstown.

Just before the bridge over Route 78, turn LEFT at the elementary school.

Follow that road a short distance to the park. There’s lots of parking in the grass on the ballfield.

From Allentown:

Take Route 78 West to the Strausstown exit.

Turn LEFT at the end of the exit ramp onto Route 183 South.

Go approximately 1/3 mile and turn RIGHT at the elementary school.

Follow that road a short distance to the park. There’s lots of parking.
