Education & Outreach

Education is crucial when it comes to sharing and enjoying instrumental music. This is why the Ringgold Band works with local school districts, music stores, and PMEA to sponsor multiple youth outreach initiatives with the goal of inspiring young musicians. We are proud to sponsor a number of initiatives to promote both outreach and education.

RINGGOLD BAND YOUNG ARTIST AWARDS

Every year, the Ringgold Band sponsors a monetary scholarship award to promote lifelong musicianship among high school students who plan to continue their musical studies in college or in the military. We award $1,000 in scholarship money to a first-place winner and $500 to our runner-up. All eligible high school seniors are encouraged to apply! 

BANDING TOGETHER CONCERTS

One of the missions of the Ringgold Band is to encourage and foster the development & love of band music among the youth of Berks County. This program puts together musicians of Ringgold Band with budding middle school students in a rehearsal setting. Ringgold members sit among the middle school students & rehearse music chosen by the school director.  There is also a small master class for students. Finally, a concert is presented for the parents, followed by a reception. Upcoming Banding Together concerts will appear in our concert schedule.
